Terms of Service & Sale Terms

The Stitchfolk terms for site use, accounts, hosted Stripe checkout, digital pattern licences, memberships, disclaimers, and termination.

Baseline legal information — not legal advice

These documents describe Stitchfolk's current product and site practices as a starting point for legal review. They are not jurisdiction-specific legal advice.

Effective September 10, 2026.

These Terms of Service and sale terms apply to your use of Stitchfolk on its .io and .app hosts, including digital pattern purchases, bundles, memberships, accounts, newsletters, and community features.

1. Eligibility and acceptable use

By using Stitchfolk, you confirm that you can enter a binding agreement where you live and that the information you provide is accurate. If you use the service for an organization, you have authority to bind it. You may not use Stitchfolk to:

Break the law, infringe another person's rights, or evade a safety, access, or payment control.

Scrape, overload, probe, reverse engineer, or interfere with the site or another person's account.

Upload malware, unlawful material, content you do not have permission to share, or misleading commercial content.

2. Accounts

Keep your account credentials private, provide a current email address, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account unless applicable law says otherwise. The account-creation form asks you to acknowledge these Terms and the Privacy Policy; that acknowledgement is enforced for the action but is not currently stored as a separate legal-version audit record.

We may refuse, suspend, or secure an account when needed to prevent abuse, fraud, or policy violations.

You may not transfer an account or use another person's account without permission.

Account closure does not erase order, safety, or legal records that Stitchfolk must retain.

3. Prices, payment, and sale terms

Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. The amount presented for a product or plan is calculated on Stitchfolk's server and shown again in hosted Stripe checkout before payment. Taxes, currency conversion, and bank charges may depend on your location and payment provider.

Payment is processed by hosted Stripe checkout. Stitchfolk does not receive your full card number. A completed checkout creates a purchase or membership record only after the payment provider confirms the session. See the Digital downloads & refunds policy for delivery and correction support.

A discount code or promotion applies only when the checkout or offer says it applies; Stitchfolk may correct an obvious pricing or display error before fulfillment.

You authorize the payment method for the displayed one-time or recurring amount and any applicable taxes or fees.

Digital patterns are licensed, not sold as a transfer of copyright.

The Terms and Digital downloads & refunds policy do not waive rights that cannot legally be waived.

4. Digital product licence

After a valid purchase, Stitchfolk grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the purchased digital pattern for your own making. Unless the product page or a separate written licence says otherwise:

You may save, print, and use the pattern for personal projects.

You may gift or sell a finished object you made from the pattern, subject to the rights of the underlying designer.

You may not resell, repost, share, sublicense, or distribute the PDF or substantial pattern instructions.

You may not remove attribution or claim another person's pattern as your own.

5. Delivery and access

Digital files are delivered through the checkout success flow, account downloads, or the purchase email where available. Delivery depends on a valid payment, an accurate email address, and the file being ready for release.

Keep your account and checkout email current and save a copy for personal use.

If a link expires or a file cannot be opened, contact Stitchfolk through /contact for support.

Access may be limited or paused for fraud, abuse, a reversed payment, or a security incident.

6. Bundles and memberships

A bundle is a one-time purchase for the patterns described on its offer. A membership is a recurring plan that provides the access described on the pricing page while the subscription is active.

Membership charges recur at the displayed interval through hosted Stripe until cancelled or otherwise ended.

Cancel from the available account or subscription-management path; cancellation timing and access at the end of a paid period depend on the plan and provider status.

New releases and the back catalogue are available only as described by the current membership offer.

Bundle and membership delivery, corrections, and refund requests follow the Digital downloads & refunds policy.

7. Disclaimers and liability

Stitchfolk provides patterns, guides, recommendations, and community features for general creative use. We do not guarantee that a pattern will produce a particular result, fit, skill outcome, or uninterrupted availability. Follow material, tool, and safety instructions and use your own judgment.

Third-party supplies, websites, payment services, and linked content are controlled by their respective providers.

To the extent permitted by law, Stitchfolk is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability or consumer rights that the law does not permit us to limit.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. Stitchfolk may suspend or end access when reasonably necessary for security, non-payment, fraud, abuse, infringement, or a material breach of these Terms.

A termination decision does not cancel rights or obligations that arose before termination.

A valid personal licence for a paid pattern remains subject to its terms unless access is revoked because of fraud, chargeback, or another lawful reason.

The policy pages on refunds, contributors, and copyright continue to apply to the relevant conduct after a feature closes.

9. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

10. Contact
