Baseline legal information — not legal advice
These documents describe Stitchfolk's current product and site practices as a starting point for legal review. They are not jurisdiction-specific legal advice.
Effective September 10, 2026.
This Privacy Policy covers the Stitchfolk websites on their configured .io and .app hosts, the account and checkout flows, newsletters, the designer program, and community gallery features. Stitchfolk uses the same policy and relative routes on both hosts.
1. Scope and responsibility
The service operator is an unspecified legal entity ("Stitchfolk," "we," or "us"). The operator identity and mailing address remain owner-fill items in this baseline.
This notice applies to information collected through Stitchfolk pages, forms, accounts, purchases, memberships, newsletters, designer applications and submissions, and finished-project gallery uploads. It does not make claims about a third-party site linked from Stitchfolk.
2. Information we receive
We collect only the information needed to run the feature you use, respond to you, prevent abuse, and understand whether the site works:
Account details such as name, email address, sign-in credentials, session identifiers, and profile or access status.
Order and checkout details such as selected pattern or plan, checkout session references, payment status, and download or membership access. Hosted Stripe handles payment-card data; Stitchfolk does not ask for or store full card numbers.
Newsletter, designer, gallery, forum, contact, and other form content that you choose to send, including consent or rights acknowledgements shown at that action.
Technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, request timestamps, cookies, local storage values, and approximate usage events.
3. Why we use information
We use information for the following purposes, subject to the choices and legal basis that apply where you live:
To create and secure accounts, authenticate sessions, provide downloads, and support memberships or other requested features.
To process orders through hosted Stripe checkout, maintain order status, verify completed payments, and provide customer support.
To send the newsletter when you opt in, including the double-opt-in confirmation and occasional pattern or guide updates.
To review designer applications and submissions, publish approved work with attribution, moderate community content, and respond to takedown reports.
To protect the service, enforce the policies, rate-limit abusive traffic, troubleshoot errors, measure product usage, and improve the site.
4. Service providers and sharing
We share information with providers only as needed for the requested service, security, communications, or operation of Stitchfolk:
Better Auth and the app database support accounts, sessions, orders, designer workflows, and other product records.
Stripe, through its hosted checkout and the installed payment integration, processes payment details and payment status under Stripe's own terms and privacy notice.
MailerLite receives newsletter addresses and related subscription activity after a valid marketing-consent submission.
Render-hosted infrastructure, email, analytics, and file-storage proxies may process the minimum data needed to run the app. We do not sell personal information.
5. Retention and security
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, account or order support, safety, dispute handling, and applicable recordkeeping. Exact retention periods are an owner/legal decision and are not promised here.
Account and order records may remain while an account or support obligation exists.
Newsletter data remains with the email provider until unsubscribe, suppression, deletion, or provider retention rules apply.
Published community content may remain in backups or moderation records after removal where needed for safety or dispute history.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw newsletter consent. Tell us what you are requesting and how to identify the relevant account or submission:
Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the email or by contacting the owner.
Update or close account details through the available account flow, subject to security checks and records we must retain.
Ask for a copy, correction, or deletion of information we control, subject to applicable exceptions.
Ask questions about cookies, local storage, analytics, or a published contribution.
Use the contact route below; for legal inquiries or privacy matters, contact bill@aitoolsfortoday.com.
7. Children
Stitchfolk is not directed to children who are not permitted to use online services under the laws that apply to them. Do not create an account, purchase, submit content, or provide personal information if you cannot agree to the applicable terms.
8. Contact and updates
For privacy questions or a request, use the Stitchfolk contact page at /contact and identify it as a privacy request. For legal inquiries or privacy matters, contact bill@aitoolsfortoday.com. We may update this policy when the product or legal requirements change.
