Copyright & Takedown
Stitchfolk's baseline copyright notice and takedown process for patterns, images, gallery posts, designer submissions, and other site content.
Baseline legal information — not legal advice
These documents describe Stitchfolk's current product and site practices as a starting point for legal review. They are not jurisdiction-specific legal advice.
Effective September 10, 2026.
Stitchfolk respects the rights of pattern designers, photographers, makers, vendors, and other creators. This baseline explains ownership and the information needed to report suspected infringement without naming a jurisdiction-specific statutory agent before the owner confirms one.
1. Ownership and permissions
Unless a page, licence, or contributor agreement says otherwise, Stitchfolk or the relevant creator owns or controls the text, pattern instructions, charts, images, logos, software, and other original material made available on the service. A buyer receives the limited personal-use licence described in the Terms and Digital downloads & refunds policy.
Do not copy, repost, sell, or distribute Stitchfolk patterns or substantial excerpts without permission.
A designer retains ownership of an accepted submission subject to the publication and distribution licence in the Contributor terms.
A gallery or forum contributor keeps rights in their content while granting the permissions needed for the feature they use.
2. What to include in a report
To report alleged copyright infringement, email bill@aitoolsfortoday.com with: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) the URL of the material you claim is infringing; (c) your name and contact information; and (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner. Valid reports are reviewed promptly, and infringing material is removed.
Your name and contact details, plus a statement that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
A description of the original work and, where possible, a link or other information showing it.
The exact Stitchfolk URL, pattern title, account, image, or other location of the material you want reviewed.
An explanation of why you believe the use is unauthorized and which part of the work is implicated.
A statement that the information is accurate and that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, agent, or law.
A physical or electronic signature, or another clear confirmation from the rights holder or authorized representative.
3. Review and interim action
Stitchfolk will review a sufficiently detailed report and may contact the reporter, contributor, buyer, or another rights holder for clarification. We may temporarily restrict visibility, disable a link, pause a listing, or remove material while facts are checked; we do not promise a particular response time or outcome.
A report does not by itself establish infringement or require removal.
We may reject incomplete, abusive, fraudulent, or clearly unrelated reports.
Repeated or knowingly false reports may be treated as abuse of the process.
4. Counter-notice or return process
A contributor or user whose material is restricted may send a response explaining their rights, permission, licence, mistake, or other relevant facts. Any formal counter-notice, restoration, or return process will be offered only if the owner and legal review confirm the process and jurisdictional requirements.
Do not assume this page appoints a statutory agent or promises a jurisdiction-specific counter-notice right.
The owner must complete the designated contact and process after legal review before relying on it.
5. Removal and restoration decisions
Stitchfolk may remove, replace, restore, or leave content available based on the evidence, permissions, licences, applicable law, customer access, and safety needs. Removal of a listing may be prospective and may not erase transaction or abuse-prevention records.
Creators should use the Contributor terms for voluntary withdrawal of their own submission.
Reporters should preserve original files, URLs, and correspondence for follow-up.
The owner may update this process when a designated agent or jurisdiction-specific procedure is confirmed.
6. Designated contact
